The essay is dedicated to John Zizioulas, on die occasion of his 70th birthday, and affirms the close connection of economic and immanent trinityin recent Trinitarian theology. This requires arguing for the personal relations within the uinity in view of the entire spectrum of the biblical descriptions of their mutual relations, not only in terms of their "relations of origin". The author has proposed elsewhere to account for this mutuality of the Trinitarian relations in terms of die mutual self-distinction of the Trinitarian persons. This essay defends his description against some recent misunderstandings and criticisms.
