Service of word and celebration of eucharist in the context of the ministryquestion While for the celebration of services of word there are commissions to non ordained people also in the roman-catholic church, the binding of the eucharistic celebration only to ordained people is a point of special ecumenical sensibility. From a protestant understanding of the Lord's supper, too, the binding of its celebration to ordained people should not be solved (as it is now discussed). The reason for that is the specific soteriological and ecclesial obligation which takes place in that meal, for individual communicants as for the local and the universal churchcommunity and unity.
