The difficulties in dealing with the topic death and eternal life generally arise from students' inabilities to verbalize and express their ideas. Therefore it is advantageous to rely on creative and aesthetic methods and teaching approaches. The here presented unit for religious education lessons suggests using arts, literature und music to make the thematic fields of death und eternal life accessible to students. A number of different approaches are employed in order to support the development of students' communicative competences concerning existential aspects of life.
