Anthroposophy deals in the main focus with the development of mankind in its different stages between beginning and deification. One of the central notions is evolution which, according to Rudolf Steiner, was triggered by man. In the course of evolution, each human being has undergone a cycle of reincarnations by which he has been part of the development of mankind. Through constant reembodiment the progress of a human being never ends. Overcoming the transitoriness has the consequence that death has no catastrophic meaning but describes the transition into a different level of existence. Instead of conceptions of an afterlife, Steiner uses the concept of a spiritual divine world which is inhabited by higher beings. The highest spiritual being is Jesus Christ. Eternity executes itself in the change of the individual being between the stages of incarnation and becomes identically with immortality. The anthroposophic concept differs greatly from christianity and the occidental ideas of time and eternity. The claim of anthroposophy to have gained their knowledge through scientific visions of higher worlds complicates a fruitful discussion since here the boundaries of our knowledge are being crossed: The boundary of death beyond which we may not look.
