The Firm is a thriller by John Grisham. The protagonist, the young lawyer Mitchell Y. McDeere, starts working for a small law firm. In the course of the story he discovers that the firm actually is part of a Mafia family and earns its living with money laundering. McDeere decides to help the FBI. Little by little Mitch finds out about the firm's racketeering. Meanwhile, the lawyers become suspicious about him and enforce their surveillance - it's the beginning of an exciting chase against time.
