A Long Way Down deals with four characters who meet when they all want to commit suicide on New Year's Eve. They form a group and finally help each other improving their lives. The four main characters are Martin, Maureen, Jess and JJ. They all have strong personalities and differ from each other in several ways. Nevertheless, they grow as a group and strengthen each other.
