Set in New Orleans in the 1940th, A Streetcar Named Desire introduces one of the great American tragic characters of the 20th century: Blanche DuBois. When Blanche arrives under mysterious circumstances to stay with her sister Stella and her husband Stanley, she is forced to review her life in a new light. While holding on to her ideal vision of herself as one of the belles of the South, she is confronted with the harsh brutality of her past life and new surroundings.
