Das Problem der Anerkennung und die Religion eine systematische Überlegung
Zeitschriftenartikel

Unlike any other topic, "recognition" marks an unresolved problem of late modern societies: On the one hand, it is considered a basic prerogative of both individual self and social interaction; on the other hand a significant Zack of individual experiences of recognition is diagnosed repeatedly. Against this background, this contribution problematizes the term in three steps: First it reconstructs the theoretically and environmentally common term of recognition as acknowledgment and appreciation. Then it highlights "predetermined breaking points" of the theory of recognition, which make it questionable whether the theorem of recognition is indeed suited as a viable systematic concept. In view of its indispensability and the simultaneous difficulty to conceptualize recognition in a theoretical way, it discusses the question of religion as a question of another way of thinking that is possibly leading further.
