In religious education that is confessional-cooperative, similarities should be strengthened and differences considered adequately. The question remains in how far this can be accomplished for topics such as the Holy Communion/Eucharist, in which the differences noticeably transcend the similarities. In order to discuss this question, the paper, first, briefly depicts the history and development of religious education that is confessional-cooperative. It then works out didactical-methodological guidelines of this organizational form. Finally, it tries to raise awareness of confessional-cooperative settings in education using the example of the Holy Communion/Eucharist through the Interpretation and evaluation of an expert survey as well as through the analysis of classroom material.
