The constant commitment of church and diaconal organisations to the mutual cooperation, even oneness, of "church" and "diaconia" demands practical consequences, especially in view of the declining understanding of Christian communication contexts among staff and clients, regardless of formal church membership. Beyond denominational or religious affiliation, the common social responsibility of church and diaconia and their commitment to a fair society ("politically-zealous diaconia") offer points of contact; other areas that need to be renegotiated are, for example, the participation of non-denominational people in employee representation, the (self-)critical examination of church labour law and the assumption of tasks in joint church-diaconal responsibility.
