Die Plausibilität und Orientierungskraft des christlichen Bekenntnisses in der Wissensgesellschaft der Nachmoderne
Zeitschriftenartikel

Starting point of the text: Authentic Christian testimony of faith is the self-confession of the Christian witness to the practical certainties guiding the way and the choice of goals, which have become orienting for the life practice of the author of this self-confession. By virtue of this way of coming into being, the practical certainty witnessed in Christian confession exists as one with shared power of orientation, which as such continues to be shareable - if it respects the conditions under which it has this shared and therefore also shareable power of orientation. First condition: It must not violate the general conditions (on the sender's and receiver's sides), under which a confession of practical certainty possesses shared power of orientation. Second condition: The non-trivial, specific point of a goal oriented, practical certainty of faith must not be suppressed. Third condition: After the institutions that used to be essential and indispensable for the Christian confession have lost their central position in the public sphere, their potential effects in the everyday world have to be carefully reconsidered.
