The readers are reminded about how difficult it was, 50 years ago, to establish at least at the university of Erlangen an institute for dealing with the topic within a theological faculty. Since then the object of studies has been widenend from being considered as a specific unusual way of the proclamation of the gospel towards being taken as the basic dimension of practical theology of communicating the gospel in attention to the media involved.
