Dekret oder Diskurs? Die implizite Ekklesiologie evangelischer Denkschriften
Zeitschriftenartikel

In 2008, the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD) reflected the changed social and media conditions of its so-called Denkschriften (memoranda) concerning various social issues in a separate memorandum, which continues an older memorandum on memoranda dating from 1970. Dealing with both texts, the essay pleads for adhering to the decision of the older Denkschrift to determine the connection of being in accordance with the Scriptures and factual appropriateness as the essential feature of an authentic word of the church. In doing so, the current patterns of reception are to be taken seriously: Resistant complexity withstands the trend towards sharp and exaggerated dieses, demanded by the media. Nevertheless, dealing with the mass media in an innovative way means to reflect the effects in the media und to develop strategies of communication and participation which can sometimes already start before the publication of a finished text. Thus, Denkschriften can continue to retain an indispensable significance as a means of education available to die church.
