The article describes the discussions in the articles of the first two volumes of the biennial first international "Journal for the Study of Christian Social Practice". They exhibit four tasks that have been undertaken so far : discussing basic scientific concepts of social action and its presence in faith-based practices, empirical research on diaconia, theological interpretations, and combining social science insights and theology in a way fruitful for the practice of organized diaconia.
