Gegen den Bann einer auf der Systematischen Theologie liegenden Einheitsmetaphysik, die 2. Kor 5,7 nicht ernstnimmt, betont Vf. die vor dem Eschaton irreduzible Vielheit des einen Gottes und setzt sie ins Verhältnis zur Vielheit der Götter. In via ist diese Einheit des Dreieinen Gottes, der ganz und gar Liebe ist, inmitten des Widerstreites und der Anfechtung allein Sache der Doxologie.
In view of the fact that most of Christian systematic theology is still dominated by a metaphysical concept of unity, making it impossible for the theologian to accept 2 Cor 5:7 and its consequences, the author emphasizes the irreducible plurality of the one true God and relates it to the plurality of false gods. Thus the unity of the triune God, who is nothing but love, can only be spoken of in strictly doxological terms
