Poimenik beschreibt ihr Feld ganz überwiegend als face-to-face Kommunikation. Ein großer Teil heutiger Kommunikationen wird allerdings elektronisch vermittelt. Im Spielraum der Seelsorge erhält die mediale Selbstbefähigung des Menschen zentrale Bedeutung; sie zeigt sich in der Entfaltung des virtuellen Leibkörpers. Kerygmatisch und therapeutisch orientierte Seelsorge rücken näher zusammen, die poimenische Bedeutung von Alltagskommunikationen wächst.
Counselling Theory is mostly concerned only with face-to-face-communication, yet a large part of today's communication is electronically mediated. In the field of counselling the media supported selfempowerment of man gains significance. It becomes visible in the development of a virtual bodycorpus. Kerygmatical and therapeutical counselling move closer together; the importance of poimenic daily communication in pastoral care grows.
