Der Beitrag befasst sich mit der Konzeption und Aktualität des "Prinzip Verantwortung" von Hans Jonas. Neben der bleibenden Bedeutung der "Heuristik der Furcht" und des "Vorsichtsprinzips" hebt er die Begründung der Verantwortungsethik aus der Wiedergewinnung der Kategorie des Heiligen hervor. Aus ihr wird eine Ausrichtung der Verantwortung auf die Zukunft menschlichen Lebens auf der Erde plausibel. Über Jonas hinausgehend akzentuiert der Aufsatz die Kontingenz des Zukünftigen, die Reziprozität der Verantwortung sowie die Unantastbarkeit der Menschenwürde als Wegmarken ethischer Urteilsbildung in einer komplexer werdenden Welt.
The article reflects on the concept and the actuality of the "principle of responsibility" by Hans Jonas. Next to the "heuristics of fear" and the "principle of precaution", Jonas highlights the justification of an ethics of responsibility as one of the benefits of regaining the category of the Holy. This, in turn, makes an orientation of responsibility toward the future of human life on the globe more plausible. Going beyond Jonas, the article accentuates the contingence of the future, the reciprocity of responsibility, and the inviolability of human dignity as beacons for the capacity for ethical judgments in a world becoming more and more complex.
