This article tackles the challenges posed by the process of individualization for theological ethics. It starts by setting out a sociological analysis of modern society presented by the German sociologist Andreas Reckwitz and his book "Die Gesellschaft der Singularitäten" (2017). Then, the author sketches a research agenda called 'ethics of individuality', including a concept of ethical creativity and exploring the perspective on individuality from the point of view of ethical duties, ethical virtues and ethical goods. One central thesis of the article claims that these three perspectives should be combined when facing the challenges of individualization. Finally, the article argues that the kind of ethics presented is closely related to the Christian concept of love. To conceptualize Christian ethics in the sense of an ethics of individuality results in remarkable strengths and positive consequenceswwhose outlining complements the article.
