The article resumes the development in reflecting about pastoral care connected with baptism, weddings and funerals since the 1950s. Challenges and problems are discussed. Pastoral experiences are highlighted by poems of the author. He characterizes the pastoral attitudes in such care as an expectant (erwartungsvolle), empathetic (einfühlsame), and cooperative (entgegenkommende) pastoral care.
