The article discusses arguments in favour and against the necessity and utility of truth-seeking. It starts with Nietzsche's statement that "truth at any price" has been the reason for the decline of Christianity and adds post-modern perspectives. It seems that in a postmodern time, Christian religious teaching could and should focus on different topics and not stress the dangerous topic of truth. Surprisingly, however, in the post-modern discourse Michel Foucault rediscovered the importance of truth and described the connection between Christianity and parrhesia. The article pleads for the positive role truth-seeking and truth telling can play in Christian religious education.
