Jesu Wirken, Weg und Geschick zum Ansatz einer Theologie des Neuen Testaments in ökumenischer Perspektive
Zeitschriftenartikel

The unity of Scripture can neither be substantiated by its 'text' nor through specification of its "Mitte". It is to be gleaned from reference made by the New Testament texts to the Christ event. The function of Scripture vis-?-vis all ecclesiastical tradition and doctrine is differently accentuated in current documents. Whereas 'Communio Scantorum' allocates Scripture a critical function vis-?-vis all other witnessing authorities, the VELKD document Traditionsaufbruch [Renewing Tradition] presents the church as final judge over the Christ event as testified by Scripture. In order that Scripture can assert its independent authority vis-?-vis the Church, the Christ event in all its aspects must be taken into account and be understood in a coherent vision.
