Today church theory is typically elaborated in theorizing about the sociological forms of the church, but it offers no more than the conventional formula about the content of the church's proclamation. Thus, many forms of communicating the Gospel are overlooked or are demanded from the organized and institutionalized church. Rather, the issue of how the Gospel is communicated in the social forms of family, media, school and social services should be addressed.
