Konfirmandenelternarbeit? Was aus der Familienperspektive zu lernen ist
Zeitschriftenartikel

Typically confirmation class is seen by the church as a good opportunity to reach the parents and get them more church-related. In times of reduced religious socialization, for parents like for confirmation class participants it has become questionable what relevance faith might have - besides contributing a framework for celebrating confirmation as a family highlight. The question then is to what degree such young people experience their confirmation class time as an opportunity to play a part in church (e. g. church services) using and developing their gifts and thus experience forms and events of community. Experiences of empowerment in the church are seen as relevant faith. This also stimulates how faith is seen by the parents. And likewise parents will evaluate their relationship to the church as relevant if it empowers them in the role as parent of a teenager.
