In Deutschland und Frankreich wird grundsätzlich unterschiedlich mit Religion umgegangen, da die Rollen von Kirche und Staat anders verteilt sind. Deswegen gibt es an deutschen Schulen das ordentliche Lehrfach Religion in konfessioneller Ausprägung, während dies in Frankreich an staatlichen Schulen wegen der Laizität nicht umsetzbar ist. Gleichwohl gab und gibt es zwischen beiden Ländern vielfältige Transfer- und Austauschprozesse. Mit dem Ansatz der Kulturtransferforschung können diese beschrieben und Möglichkeiten eines gemeinsamen europäischen Bildungsraums ausgelotet werden.
There is no Religious Education in public schools in France, while RE in confessional constitution is the normal case in German schools. This article examines the advantages and limits of a comparative and transfer oriented research approach for the analysis of two different countries with different situations of Religious Education. Using the translation studies in the dissertation we will show the transfers between French- and German speaking authors and their reception in the Age of Enlightenment, the beginning of the 20th century and the current discussion. For this approach, it's more useful to follow the - for Religious Education research - relatively unknown way of transnational studies, e.g. translation studies. It indicates that the article and the dissertation are not only an input for the understanding of French and German education systems and the possibility of a common European education system, but also an input for the methodological debate in Religious Education research.
