Lukas in neuer Perspektive
Zeitschriftenartikel

Within the past 30 years, the exegesis of the Gospel of Luke has changed considerably. Speaking of a "new perspective" would certainly be premature, but traditional debates that saw Luke as an antipode of Paul seem to be settled. Questions of "salvation and history" or "human perspective on existence" have been replaced by questions about the relationship between Israel and the Christian community, the interpretation of the death of Jesus, women's lives and Luke's potential of liberation. Luke's achievements in preserving the heritage of the beginnings by transformation at the end of the 1st cent. are increasingly being acknowledged. In doing so, Luke proves to be a true frontier runner between Judaism and the pagan world. The "path" he chooses as basic pattern for his theology has provided new exegetical ground.
