Prostitution is a controversial topic that has hardly received systematic theological reflection so far. The author presents a detailed investigation of the problem of commercialized sexuality, gives an overview of the social function of prostitution and various legal policies pertaining to it, and develops first guidelines for social-ethical considerations.
