From an overview on current sociological and socio-psychological analyses of the network society, it can be seen how the focus of spiritual care will change. It helps people to find their way and prepare for a life of biographical disruptions. For the church the responsibilities of the individual church members for spiritual care in the communication networks become more important than increasing specialization in professional care. Spiritual care serves as a navigator in the plurality of places and opportunities of Christian communication.
