How is it possible in helping communication with a secularized person that the Christian partner can be understood when he/she is referring to God? Two situations need to be disguished. When the partner is distanced from religion, the Christian partner should be prepared to dilute restrictive ideas about what is the Christian faith. When the partner has no sense for religion, the pastor can show respect for this otherness and help to strengthen valuing what is not at one's disposal.
