Is it time for reconciliation between offenders and victims of the East German Communist Society? Starting from a current debate about this question the author analyses how in the different liturgical elements of the Christian Protestant church service guilt is spoken of and dealt with. The guilt of us sinners gaining God's reconciliation is focussed on whereas a lot less attention is given to the suffering caused by others' guilt. The liturgical possibilities for accompanying the guilt discourse to be distinguished from the reconciliation discourse are uncovered.
