After the coming down of communist dictatorship in Eastern Europe dogmatic research and teaching has begun to flourish again in several orthodox local churches. The previous participation of these churches in ecumenical dialogues with other churches was judged anew by the orthodox synods. The author of this survey asks: Which dogmatical and ethical questions were mainly investigated in the last years? In which points there are agreements or disagreements between prominent present day systematical theologians in the orthodoxy church? Which positions received attention and should receive attention in western theology as well? How does present day orthodoxy connect the heritage of the Church. Fathers which modern philosophy and theology under hermeneutical aspects?
