Plato Jones can't decide if he's Welsh like his father or Greek like his mother, especially now his parents are separated. His family loyalties are further divided when they attend his Greek grandfather's funeral in a small mountain village in Greece. What terrible thing did Plato's grandfather do in the past to warrant such hostile, silent stares from the villagers? His Welsh grandfather was a war hero. Was his Greek grandfather a villain and a traitor? As Plato discovers the trutz about his family's past, he begins to recognize, in himself, the real Plato Jones. Plato first appeared, with his friend Jane Tucker, in The Outside Child.
