The Fisherman and His Wife Retold from the Brothers Grimm

A fisherman and his wife live in a miserable hovel by the sea. Each day the fisherman trudges off to go fishing. His wife stays home, wishing that they were richer. One day, the fisherman catches a fine flounder. "Oh, Fisherman, please set me free. I am not what I appear to be," the fish tells him. Then he explains that he is a prince trapped in a flounder's body by evil magic. The fisherman releases the fish and returns home. When his wife hears about the flounder, she demands that her husband ask it for a wish. Several times the fisherman goes back to the flounder, after his wife wishe to have a bigger cottage, then a castle, then to be king. Finally, the flounder teaches the fisherman's wife a lesson!
